Robert “Bob“ Heil has served as the minister for the Willow Park Church of Christ since 2001 and has been a minister in churches of Christ for over 40 years. He has served congregations large and small, established and in missionary settings, from California to New Jersey and points in-between. His education includes studies in the fields of education, theology, with a Master’s Degree in Gerontology. He is developing studies in “Aging and Spirituality.”
He and his wife Barbara have three grown children. All the family are graduates of Abilene Christian University. Barbara has served as an educational specialist for the public schools.
In addition to preaching for the Willow Park Church of Christ, Bob has also served as Chaplain for Christian Care Home Health and Hospice, serves on the board of trustees for Tarrant Area Gerontological Society (Chairman for their Summer Forum), and also serves on an advisory committee for John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Bob believes we all need to be involved in our communities – to be a church beyond a building.
When Barbara and I moved here from Charleston, SC a number of years ago, we were coming home to Texas. There were several congregations we talked to; one near Waco, another near Austin, but we chose Willow Park because we believe it was GOD’s choice. We have never been disappointed. This community and especially this congregation have really cared for us.
